Green, green my world is green!!!
Not being well is very good for the wardrobe. I should have done some washing, but didn't so I was looking at the clothing available and found a crinkle cotton tunic type top, with long trumpet sleeves with a slit and a bound v neck and lo and behold it fitted really well again. It had been too tight, but now, I can wear it really comfortably!!!
Yesterday the Labradors had an extra walk on the lead and then I met Karen for brunch. I had crispy bacon, avocado and Brie toasted finger, yum, and then we had a long look for a present for Mary's birthday. She is 60. We wanted a mug or cup with a quilting or sewing theme, or a little white fluffy dog but there were none to be had. In the end we bought some particularly shiny embroidery scissors. We are having cake and coffee (tea) on Wednesday night at Pierre's.
I am cross now Karen rang up to say let's go to see H2G2 and I was all 'oh I have some free tickets' and then I saw they ran out YESTERDAY. I wish I had never known as now I am all sad about it. That will teach me not to avoid using them on Tuesday when the prices are slightly cheaper. Bah humbug.
Peri is still in a heightened state of excitement as she can make the Elephant TeddyBunny trumpet three times when she squeezes him!! Harki has just eaten two tigers!!!
Well despite having nothing to wear I have managed to iron a green shirt and an almost matching exactly green top and green cord jeans and I have green shoes, socks, earrings bracelet and watch!!! Not bad going really.
Plum Tart
Plums are in season here now.
1 sweet puff pastry
1 egg yolk
1 tbspn milk
8 small plums ( 600 g) thinly sliced
1 /1/2 tspn cinnamon sugar
Preheat oven to Hot 220 C ( 200 ff) and grease and line a tray. Cut pastry into square ish quarters and place on tray. Here, I like to score a line 1 cm in from all the edges, it makes a nice puffed up border. Brush with mixed yolk and milk. Arrange ¼ of the slices on each piece of pastry, overlapping slightly and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar evenly over them.
Bake on lower oven shelf for about 15 minutes. To serve ( hot or warm) sprinkle with icing sugar and add ice-cream and/or cream!!!
