Well, well, well - three holes in the ground.
I have had a day at home and I slept about 11 hours last night : I don’t remember 11 pm and I woke up around 10 am this morning. We all slept in and then had stir fry for brunch. I have knocked over 3 tapes and also watched 2 episodes of Stargate. A day well spent!!! I have not had a nap as I am hoping to sleep tonight.
The bad news is that health insurance is going up by about 15% again this year. Even though the Howard Coalition has promised many times that the cost would stay the same and most likely fall, in the last 3 years it has risen, on average, by over 30% - it could be more. Mine rose by almost 50% last year even though the average was $8. It is ironic that if I didn’t pay so much I could afford to go to the dentist regularly. I haven’t been for 18 months. With the rebate it still costs about $100 for a check up, and I pay $120 a month with a big $800 excess. This means that I hardly ever use the insurance but continue to pay $1440 a year at least. You are forced to be in a fund, as you are penalised a 2% increase for every year of your age you have not been in a fund. So if I left now and rejoined at proper retirement I would be paying 50% more of the price in 25 years.
The Lennon Red-neck “Green” pulp mill bus – and there’s an oxymoron if I ever saw one, is now expected to cost the state’s taxpayers over $2,000,000 and the pulp mill has not even been pronounced as a significant business yet. It is a Kafka-esque existence we lead here. Soon there will be jackbooted Lennon soldiers patrolling and arresting those who speak out against the government : why do I think this? Look at the way the Gunns’ 20 have had writs served against them for speaking against Gunns, which is, apparently, our defacto government.
