Prize Knitter so to speak....

I managed to do more than 20 cm of my knitting, I knitted all the way through till the end of the first episode of Stargate. The other two episoeds are burning a hole in my pocket , so to speak, but this morning I read for a while and cooked the Labradors their cabbage and celery and played with them. I went to Spotlight, but I was too tired and there was too long a queue ( as usual) but I bought a new needle gauge as my lovely old metal Beehive one has gone astray at the moment. I noticed opn another knitting blog that Yarnivorous (sic?0 had liked the knitting in H2G2 as well. I wonder who knitted all the things for the film? I am recommending it to people. The film, not the knitting.
Oh I just won a prize on the ABC radio : I knew Emma Thompson and Mia Farrow’s mums – Phyllida Law and Maureen O’Sullivan respectively. I knew both of these already and I have apparently won a few magazines and a CD. Very good. I only ring up once a month when they have competitions. I don’t want to win lots.
I have so many needles I had a big cull late last year. I need a needle holder though. I might have to sew a new one as the one I have isn’t big enough. I want a green one of course. I think I will spend a happy hour tonight sticking all my needles into the gauge. I thought at first it was only metric and US but there on the back is the old Imperial scale and 2 rulers.
The Labradors are asleep on the couch, and I am off for a nap I think.

Rich Fudge Sauce
300 ml thickened cream
200 g good dark chocolate
100 g marshmallows
¼ cup coffee liqueur or strong coffee.
Melt cream, chocolate and marshmallows in a heavy based pan over a low heat. Stir frequently. Remove from heat when smooth and then stir in the alcohol or coffee. This will keep, sealed, in the fridge for about 3 weeks. It is lovely with ice-cream, steamed puddings or warm cake. Use your imagination…..
