8 hours a week, I lo-o-o-o-ove you!!!!

Wow, I have missed 2 days and I didn’t even realise at all that so much time has passed. On Monday we went for a walk to the shop at the corner as it was Labour Day the 149th anniversary of the 8 hour day: 8 hours to sleep, 8 hours to work and 8 hours for leisure, though I have been thinking that the travelling time to work cuts into the sleeping and leisure times. That is all we really did. I was still tired and had a long afternoon nap and then , of course, slept badly that night even though I was tired. Yesterday I went to the jewellers to pick up a watch I thought was beyond repair. It is a Guess watch and apparently the are quite expensive so it is worth fixing. I bought it 5 or 6 years ago , but they have gone up in price. I talked to Karen 3 or 4 times and Di too.
Today I am off to be part of a ‘phone-a-friend’ group for someone who is on Who wants to be a millionaire? It is a daunting task, mine is TV and Film but I am exceedingly nervous about the whole thing.
Tomorrow my car has been recalled as the gas lift thingies for the tailgate may be faulty and so they will replace them for free. I have to be there at 9 am. The Labradors will have to miss their walk, they do have to when I am a bit tired too. I am a bit tired as well.
The on Friday I am going to Di’s for tea. It will necessitate long and good napping in order to cope. I will have to walk the Labradors on Friday though.
The Federal Government wants to take away out symphony orchestra, and make it into a chamber group. We are all up in arms and have signed a petition against this. When lots of money has been wasted on a war, it seems a very small thing to ask for a million dollars or less to keep our orchestra afloat. They are quite famous and very skilled. We have been with school to performances and they have played the theme tunes for shows as well.

Mini Chocolate Meringues
3 egg whites
175 g caster sugar
50 g coarsely grated good dark chocolate
Preheat oven to 120 C ( 100 fan forced) and line trays.
Beat eggwhites till soft peaks form and then gradually add sugar, and beat until smooth and glossy. All the sugar should be dissolved. Fold in chocolate.
Spoon or pipe 3 cm ‘kisses’ or ovals . Lower temperature to 90 C ( as low as ff will go) and bake for minutes. Cool in oven overnight. Sandwich together with cream or ganache!!. Makes about 24. You can also just dip half the meringue in melted chocolate. Just as yummy.
